What We Do

  • Employ 10 teachers.
  • Educate 1200 pupils: Over 97% pass rate which is significantly higher than local Government schools
  • Provide adult education. The adult education class recently achieved 100% pass rate in their Grade 7 examinations
  • Support extra curricular activities: netball team, football team, choir. The netball team were regional champions in 2009 with one individual attaining National representation.
  • Supply resources to the school: desks, electric sewing machines, filing cabinets, blackboards, writing equipment, chalk
  • Small business development and capacity building: Mill project, sewing project.
  • Established an Aids/HIV awareness programme - the first in the area. 
  • Supply staff with mosquito nets.
  • Development of a food programme for orphans. 
  • Outreach programme: teachers go out into the village to recruit more children to come to school..
  • Liaise with supporters such as Rotary International, Soroptimists, Inner Wheel and private sponsors.
  • Regular meetings of Trustees both in the UK and Zambia.
  • Annual visits to the school and exchange visits to the UK.
  • Liaise with local and national Government
  • Plan strategic development.
